Built in 1888 adjacent to the railroad tracks 1 block east of it's current location as a boarding house for railroad workers, and moved in 1903 to make room for the Marion Hotel which later burned down, this building has been known as Renfroe House, Dixie House, Jesse R,. Young Realty and Young's Apartments over the years.

Renovated in 1992 to give the "share the bath" establishment each it's own bathroom and to tear out layers of shag carpeting and linoleum flooring, dark paneling and suspended ceilings, the 6 unit building is now taken back to heart pine floors, beadboard walls and high ceilings. The original "shared bath" is now a laundry room for all 6 tenants to share.

Eat in kitchen, two entrances, curbside mail and garbage services.

The other 5 units are efficiencies, meaning the one large room (about 15 x 15') serves as a combined living room and bedroom with a little kitchen and little bathroom off to the side in separate rooms, completes the apartment. Three of the 5 units have "eat in kitchens" meaning there is space to put a table and chairs. The two upstairs units in the front of the building do not. Their kitchen opens onto the upstairs balcony where there is a table and chairs or a dinette can be added into the one big room. Three of the 5 units cook with gas and two are electric. All of the 5 have gas heat, which is included in the rent. The 5 efficiencies have room air conditioners and ceiling fans. Electricity, gas, water & garbage is included in the rent of $445/month. Dunnellon Florida Area Information

Imagine a small two-river town with a lake just minutes from the Gulf of Mexico. Imagine Dunnellon Florida a small town encased in natural beauty. Imagine being able to fish, golf, canoe, kayak, take a scenic cruise, or go for a swim.

The Crystal Clear Rainbow River in Dunnellon is absolutely breath taking. Imagine millions of gallons of fresh water flowing gently from the headsprings of the Rainbow River (in Rainbow Springs State Park) and eventually converging with the Withlacoochee River. The point where the clear water of the Rainbow River mixes with the tannic waters of the Withlacoochee is really incredible. The change in coloration from clear to tannic is indescribable.
The Withlacooche River is Spectacular in it’s own way. This river is one of only a hand full that flow from South to North. The Withlacoochee affords lots of nice trophy fish and is sure to make the angler happy. The view of the forest from the winding river is one you’re not going to forget.

Lake Rousseau is a 3,657-acre man made lake teaming with fish. The Rainbow River and Withlacooche Rivers charge Lake Rousseau with oxygen rich fresh water. Lake Rousseau is primarily a Bass fishing lake because of the abundance of vegetation and natural cover. Big Bass like this stumpy lake and so do a large variety of other fresh water species. The old river channel cuts through Lake Rousseau to the Inglis Dam and the Cross-Florida Barge Canal.
Imagine your visit to Dunnellon Florida.
