|HISTORY The Annie W. Johnson Senior Services Center, Inc.
agency was started in 1976 by the late Annie Johnson. The current center,
just south of the Withlacoochee River, was previously a Baptist Church
built over a 100 years ago.
The This-N-That Shop, on Rt. 41, started in 1986. The store accepts donations of clothing, toys, and kitchen appliances and sells same at very modest prices, with income going toward operational expenses for the Center and store.
The Center has been a Citrus County Congregate Meal site since 1981, feeding local residents both able and shut-ins (Homebound Meals) five days per week.
Local volunteers account for 99% of the necessary manpower. Part time staff of two, rounds out our team.
Another service that we provide is financial assistance to the needy in both Citrus and Marion counties. Funding is received from United Way of Citrus and Marion counties, EFSP, FPC Neighborhood Fund, Seco’s Angel Fund, local organizations as well as private individuals.
